Not Ordinary

Our philosophies start from the recognition that our clients are the most important part of our business. We strive to put ourselves in the clients' position and to look at what we would expect or want from our lawyers, and what would impress us, as the clients, as being above and beyond ordinary and average. Ordinary and average are not acceptable compromises to us!

Creative

The legal profession is not often associated with the term “creative”. Creativity can be seen as the process by which you operate within certain parameters, including the law, time and other resources to achieve a more effective or satisfying result for those having a vested interest in the outcome. The creative solution often means getting to a position of higher satisfaction and reward.

Team

We strongly believe in the concept of a team and all of our lawyers, assistants and staff are committed to that philosophy. A criteria in the selection of members in the firm is the ability to contribute in a team environment.

As a team, all of our energies and resources are channeled towards the interests of our clients. Our clients can feel comfortable that for their specific goals, they too become a member of the team as we work towards achieving their goals.

Service

We offer our clients a commitment to use our best efforts in serving their needs. Carroll Fisher Belding is a busy law firm and the needs and urgencies of clients are not always predictable. Events such as family emergencies, client deaths, court dates or business purchase dates are seldom predictable by us and the coincidence of many such unforeseen demands upon us may affect our availability for other matters.

Notwithstanding these additional and unforeseen demands, we are committed to making our best efforts to meet the expectations of other clients. Unfortunately, we cannot always do so, but we encourage all clients to appreciate that it is a constant realignment of priorities and urgencies and request that they imagine themselves in the position of the other client who has an urgent, unforeseen legal event occur or imminent and how much they, as that client, would appreciate that their lawyer make these adjustments and special efforts on their behalf at the time of urgent need.

Fees

When you retain our services, you are contracting for our time, effort, experience and breadth of professional expertise. Our general policy is to charge for the time we spend providing you with legal services.

We believe in charges that are fair and reasonable to both parties. As circumstances may vary dramatically from situation to situation, we encourage the subject matter of fees and disbursements being discussed in advance.

For certain types of work, such as real estate, we welcome your enquiries regarding the anticipated fees and costs for your proposed transaction. Other matters may be more complex and may require a more detailed review of your situation prior to our being able to estimate a fee.
